School stories

June is officially the month of pushing boundaries! The LINK Internship for International School programme started on 1 June and we cannot hide our excitement. Our students used this unique opportunity to make the first steps towards a successful future and gain experience in some of the most sought-after fields today – marketing, HR, sales, consulting, etc.

In June, several Y11, Y12 and Y13 students attend the internship organised by the founder of the International School, LINKgroup, an international company that has been successfully engaged in professional education and certification in the field of information technology and modern business around the world for more than two decades.

How will the students benefit from the LINKgroup internship?

The LINKgroup internship programme is designed to enable interns to spend a month working on specific tasks in a department of their choice.

The internship primarily provides insight into the inner workings of a large international company. The students learn about business correspondence and the processes that are key to a successful end product. One of the greatest benefits of this internship is that, in addition to delving deeper into the department they’re interested in, the students will have a better understanding of the business environment and the individual’s responsibility for collective success, which is an important business lesson they will easily implement in the future.

The students are delighted with this experience! Here’s their feedback.

To get the internship, International School students underwent a process whereby they sent their CV and cover letter, and had an interview with HR.
On 1 June, Gala Milutinović, Teodora Malinić, Jovana Petrović, Petar Janjanin, Luka Vortić and Rastko Savić officially became a part of LINKgroup for a period of one month.

Luka Vortić, who opted for the Marketing department, tells us that the internship at LINKgroup has exceeded his expectations because everything’s interesting and because he’s learning highly useful things he will undoubtedly benefit from in the future.

Teodora Malinić likes to write and sees the copywriting internship at LINKgroup as an excellent opportunity that will help her apply to the university of her choice. Teodora is writing news, optimising texts and copy for social media, editing websites, and designing promotional visuals.

Student Rastko Savić, who also chose the Marketing department, believes that all the skills he will gain in the internship will be highly useful in his further education and career, particularly when it comes to working in a team.

Their friend Jovana Petrović, who took the role of a social media manager, has similar impressions: “During the internship, I learn what it’s like to work in a team in an office environment; I gain writing skills and learn how to use social media to increase the number of buyers from a target group”.

Internship

In one of the assignments, Luka, Teodora and Jovana work together on an advertising campaign for their own school.

In addition to the Marketing department, HR and the Centre for Career Development also generate great interest among the students.

Future HR expert, Gala Milutinović, is more than happy with the internship programme: “Now I have a much better understanding of HR processes, such as personality tests, job interviews, report writing, etc. Everyone is so sociable and willing to help”, while her friend Petar Janjanin adds: “So far, I’ve gained valuable business environment experience, and learnt to use different software tools used in HR and CCD on a daily basis”. He also expects to enhance his business communication skills and gain more in-depth knowledge about the Career Development department.

“The environment is very professional, pleasant and friendly; there’s no pressure of stress”, concludes Petar, while Luka once again confirms that the LINKgroup experience is something completely new to him, and that now he has a different perspective of how an educational institution operates.

An experience that opens new possibilities

Internship at an international company that specialises in education on a global level is a unique experience for our students that will help them choose the right academic programme and enhance their applications for universities around the world.

Moreover, our students will receive precious experience they will find indispensable in their future careers.

We would like to congratulate our students on impeccably representing the International School. We’re proud, particularly because their mentors have nothing but words of praise for them.
