After collecting warm clothes back in December, International School Year 10 and Year 11 students joined forces to buy hygienic supplies for the children from the Drop-In Centre.

Earlier this month, the students went shopping together with their class teachers, Ms Tatjana Koluvija and Ms Tatjana Vilček. This time, the children from the Drop-In Centre needed hygienic supplies, so our students bought everything they could think of (soaps, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, wet wipes, etc.) and prepared the gifts.

empathy and careAccompanied by their Global Perspectives teacher, Tatjana Koluvija, several students from both classes went to hand over the gifts and even though they showed great initiative and willingness to participate, only a few of them could go due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was quite an experience for the students who instantly connected with the children that were present. They talked with the kids, helped them with their homework and didn’t want to get back to the school.

Helping others is the first step in making the world a better place and improving the lives of those who weren’t born under a lucky star. Helping others is not only beneficial for those in need, but it makes us happier and healthier as well. International School students contribute to creating stronger communities and building a happier society for everyone.
