We’re constantly learning innovative and useful things at the International School! On Wednesday, 19 May, Year 10 students attended an interesting Business lesson in which teacher presented the SCAMPER method.

What is the SCAMPER method?

We can refer to this method as enhanced brainstorming. It’s a method we use to find problem solutions by exchanging opinions within a group. The SCAMPER method leads to the idea of ​​a new product by developing an existing product by going through the following steps in the thinking process creating a new product and new solutions – Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, Reverse. This method of active learning enables students to analyse and apply theoretical knowledge in a creative and interesting way through group learning (cooperative learning).

Finding creative solutions through teamwork

The students were divided into teams which presented their innovative solutions. This way, students successfully applied their marketing skills, learnt something new and created interesting solutions that could be applied in the future in the development of new products. 

The creative problem-solving method presented in a Business lesson will greatly benefit their future business endeavours.
