School stories

Remember Parents Teach this week? Well, this time we visited parents at work as a part of the Parents at Work, LINK Innovations project – it was just as interesting and useful as all the other ones. This time Ms Tatjana Koluvija, Global Perspectives teacher and Parent Support Coordinator, took Year 10 students to AS Media in Košutnjak, to meet Ms Tanja Anđelković, Mateja’s mother, and the director of sales and marketing at S Radio. The students learned everything about radio stations, how it works, what are the stages and departments in radio production, marketing and PR.

This was a great experience for Year 10 students, not only did they learn how radio works, they also met every sector leader. Ms Tanja Anđelković and her team the whole time kept the attention of the students by telling them about very interesting aspects of work in radio – the students even managed to try and imitate the work of radio announcers.

After interesting lectures we enjoyed the pancakes

The visit ended in a restaurant next to the radio, where the students enjoyed eating pancakes. The goal of this project is accomplished – the students made new friendships, they heard about different professions and we strengthened the bond between the school and the parents.

Special thanks to Mateja’s mother for welcoming us and for taking part in making memories that International School students will never forget.
