School stories

Teaching at Savremena International School is truly different and so are the PE lessons. We want to enable our students to test their skills at various disciplines, develop a variety of skills and to achieve sports results in addition to academic.

For this purpose, on 19th and 21st October, as part of the PE lessons, there was a presentation of three disciplines: sword, saber and floret. Our students had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with this cavalry sport and its tradition in Serbia as well as to try their hand in sparring matches with the help of excellent coaches of the Red Star Fencing Club.

Students challenged each other to a duel

In fencing uniforms and with masks on their faces, our students waged their strengths and “stabbed” their opponents, which was electronically recorded as points. Choosing sides and cheering their favourites, the students enjoyed their fencing time.

The Red Star Fencing Club showed great professionalism and justified the name of the club which has 40 cadets and pioneers, who achieve remarkable results all around the world. They especially commended our students for their demonstration of the sport spirit and fair play. With their interest and the support of the Red Star Fencing Club, fencing can even become regular afternoon activity in Savremena International School.
