School stories

International School students from Years 1–9 swapped their usual classroom routine for a day of movement, teamwork and fun during a Sports Day at Ada Ciganlija.

Surrounded by nature and enjoying time outdoors, students had the opportunity to take part in physical activities, spend time with their classmates and experience the positive energy of friendly competition. The day provided a welcome change of pace from regular lessons and encouraged students of different ages to stay active, support one another and enjoy being part of the school community.

Teamwork, Energy and Friendly Competition

Sports Day gave students the chance to demonstrate not only their physical abilities, but also important qualities such as perseverance, cooperation and team spirit. Whether taking part in activities or cheering on their classmates, students contributed to an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere throughout the day.

Events like this show that sport is about much more than winning. Participating in physical activities helps students develop confidence, discipline and resilience, while also teaching them how to work towards a shared goal and respect the efforts of others.

With students from Years 1–9 taking part, the day was also a valuable opportunity for different year groups to spend time together outside the traditional school environment. Sharing activities and experiences helped strengthen connections between students and created a strong sense of togetherness.

Staying Active Beyond the Classroom

Spending the day at Ada Ciganlija highlighted the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle. Outdoor activities provide students with an opportunity to move, recharge and enjoy the benefits of physical exercise while taking a break from their everyday academic routine.

Sports and physical activity play an important role in students’ overall development, supporting not only physical wellbeing but also concentration, confidence and a positive attitude. At the same time, activities outside school allow students to build friendships and create shared experiences in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

The Sports Day at Ada Ciganlija was a lively and rewarding experience for Years 1–9, bringing together exercise, teamwork and plenty of positive energy. Students finished the day with smiles, new shared memories and another reminder that some of the best school experiences happen when learning and personal development extend beyond the classroom.
