School stories

Year 10 students recently took part in an exciting entrepreneurial challenge as part of their Business Studies course, led by Ms Marija Milić. The activity gave students an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they had developed throughout the school year and transform them into their very first business concepts.

The task was both creative and practical: students were asked to come up with an original business idea, develop it into a structured business plan, create a marketing campaign and present the complete concept to their peers, teachers and a panel of guest judges.

From Classroom Knowledge to Real Business Concepts

Throughout the year, students learned about different aspects of business, entrepreneurship, marketing, planning and decision-making. This project allowed them to connect theory with practice and experience what it means to think like young entrepreneurs.

Working in teams, students analysed potential market needs, identified problems their products or services could solve and developed ideas that were both imaginative and relevant to real-life situations. They considered their target audiences, product features, branding, pricing, promotion and the overall value their business could offer.

By turning their classroom knowledge into practical business plans, students demonstrated not only their understanding of Business Studies concepts, but also their ability to apply them in a meaningful and creative way.

Teamwork, Planning and Creativity

The project required students to work collaboratively and take responsibility for different parts of the business development process. Each team had to organise its work, divide responsibilities, make decisions together and prepare a presentation that clearly explained the idea behind the business.

Students designed creative marketing campaigns, developed visual identities for their brands and prepared professional presentations. Their work showed a strong sense of innovation, organisation and attention to detail.

The presentations were delivered in front of fellow students and teachers, giving participants the chance to practise public speaking, present their ideas confidently and respond to feedback.

Valuable Feedback from Guest Judges

A special contribution to the event came from the guest judges, who carefully followed the presentations and evaluated the students’ business concepts. The judging panel included Business teachers Mr Vuk Milutinović and Ms Mila Janković, as well as History and German teacher Ms Dunja Mayer.

Their feedback provided students with valuable insight into the strengths of their ideas, as well as suggestions for further development. The judges encouraged students to think more deeply about market potential, product presentation, customer needs and the practical steps needed to turn an idea into a successful business.

This professional and supportive feedback made the experience even more meaningful, helping students understand how business ideas are assessed and improved in real-world contexts.

Innovative Ideas with Real-World Purpose

Throughout the presentations, students demonstrated remarkable creativity, entrepreneurial thinking and a serious approach to solving real-world problems through innovative products and services.

The ideas presented covered a wide range of fields, including technology, health, education, finance and pet care. What made the projects especially impressive was the students’ ability to recognise everyday challenges and propose practical solutions designed to improve people’s lives.

The quality of their business plans, the originality of their marketing ideas and their confidence in public speaking impressed both the audience and the judging panel.

The Most Successful Business Plans

According to the jury’s votes, the most successful business plans were:

ImpostoClaro – led by Petr Kireev and Lucas Duarte, this project presented a tax calculation application designed to simplify tax management for users. The idea focused on making financial organisation clearer, easier and more accessible.

Lume – created by Sara Ružica Vulin Daniel, this business concept introduced an affordable smart watch and companion application designed to make modern technology more accessible to a wider range of users.

Nura Watch – led by Mia Zah and her team, this innovative device was developed to support individuals living with diabetes. The project stood out for its focus on health, everyday support and the use of technology for a meaningful purpose.

DogCheck – led by Nadja Bilić and Victoria Azarova, this smart device was designed to improve the care and monitoring of pets. The idea showed creativity and a strong understanding of how technology can support pet owners in their daily routines.

Study Strap – led by Vukašin Simović and his team, this smart learning bracelet aimed to help students improve their study habits and academic performance. The project combined education and technology in a practical and student-focused way.

Developing Skills for the Future

Beyond the final presentations and results, this project helped students develop a wide range of important skills. They practised teamwork, communication, research, planning, problem-solving and creative thinking, while also strengthening their confidence in presenting ideas in front of an audience.

Activities like this are especially valuable because they prepare students for future academic, professional and entrepreneurial challenges. By working on their own business concepts, students learn how ideas are developed, tested, improved and presented, gaining experience that can be useful far beyond the classroom.

A Talented Generation of Young Entrepreneurs

This talented generation of Year 10 students has demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation and potential for future entrepreneurial success. Their ideas showed imagination, ambition and a clear understanding of how business can respond to the needs of people and communities.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the effort they invested in this project. Their presentations proved that with curiosity, teamwork and dedication, young people can develop inspiring ideas with real potential.

Congratulations to all participating teams on their hard work, commitment and impressive business concepts. We look forward to seeing their ideas, confidence and ambitions continue to grow in the years ahead.
