As part of the Year 11 Business class, teacher Dragana Milutinović invited a special guest, Robin Martens, Managing Director in the IT and digital tech sector, to share his expertise with students.
During the lecture, students explored key topics in Operations Management, including the various costs businesses must consider when making cost-based decisions and how to strike the right balance between costs and profit. They also learned about economies and diseconomies of scale and gained a clearer understanding of what it means for a company to break even.
Through practical examples and real-life insights, students were encouraged to strengthen their skills in numeracy, data interpretation, and presentation of information.
Such guest lectures provide students with valuable exposure to the real business world, helping them connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications. By learning directly from professionals, they not only deepen their understanding of the subject but also gain inspiration and confidence for their future academic and career paths.
