School stories

Right from the start of the school year, International School teachers have introduced a new way of learning by using VR glasses in the classroom. This exciting technology allows students to go beyond the textbook and step directly into the topics they are studying.

Year 8 students in Science, guided by their teacher Maja Milosavljević, explored the topic of Space in a completely new way. Instead of simply reading about planets and galaxies, they were able to see them up close, immersing themselves in the wonders of the universe. This approach not only made the lesson more engaging, but also helped students better understand complex concepts by experiencing them first-hand.

Year 12 students in Economics, with their teacher Ms. Marija Milić, also had the chance to take learning to the next level. Using VR glasses, they explored the concept of production in a global context. Students visited traditional weaving workshops around the world, gaining insights into how labour and capital work in small-scale, traditional industries. Then, they shifted to the modern Tesla factory, where they observed automation, innovation, and advanced technology in action. By comparing traditional and modern production, students were able to connect theory with practice, making economic concepts more tangible and easier to grasp.

This innovative use of VR technology has shown students that learning can extend far beyond the classroom walls. By making lessons more interactive, engaging, and realistic, VR is helping students at International School deepen their knowledge while sparking curiosity and creativity.
