Nemanja Peić, a French language teacher, graduated from the Department of Romance Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. He obtained his Master’s degree from the same department at the Faculty of Philology and Arts, University of Kragujevac.
He worked as a freelance translator for RTS (Radio Television of Serbia). From 2021 to 2024, he taught French, English, and Serbian as a foreign language at the Oxford Academy, where he gained extensive experience working with children, adults, and foreigners in both group and individual settings.
Since his university years, he has been giving private lessons in the aforementioned languages, as well as Latin, which he teaches to high school students. Alongside his colleagues and under the mentorship of academician Predrag Piper, he participated in the founding and development of the “Virtual Museum of the Serbian Language.” The project won first prize at the International Slavic Competition held in Russia in 2017.
Together with academician Miro Vuksanović, he co-authored the book Conversation with Nemanja (Razgovor s Nemanjom), published in two editions: by the UKCG in 2020 and as part of the collected works of Miro Vuksanović by Laguna and the Archives of Vojvodina in 2022.
He writes essays and short stories. In his free time, he enjoys visiting cinemas, theatres, and museums, and he loves to travel. He has been a member of the jury for the Goncourt Prize for Students in Serbia three times, under the auspices of the French Institute and the Goncourt Academy in Paris.
He sees his work at the Savremena Primary School as an opportunity to integrate his interests into his teaching, using modern technology to make lessons creative and engaging for students. He broadens their horizons and encourages their curiosity. He believes that a teacher must be dedicated and adaptable.
