Although Valentine’s Day fell on a Saturday this year, International School chose to celebrate it one day earlier – in a way that carried a deeper purpose and lasting impact. At the initiative and organization of the Student Council, students marked the occasion through a special humanitarian event held in the school canteen, titled “Valentine’s Day Candy Drive.”
Love Beyond Romance
This was Valentine’s Day with a meaningful twist. Instead of focusing solely on romantic love, the school community celebrated something even greater — friendship, compassion, and the power of helping others. The event was dedicated to raising awareness of International Childhood Cancer Day and supporting children across the country who are bravely battling cancer.
Small Gestures, Big Impact
Participation in the initiative was simple yet powerful. Everyone who wished to contribute sent an SMS with the number 2 to 1150, making a direct donation to the cause. As a small token of appreciation, each donor received a bag of sweets. Throughout the day, the canteen was filled with positive energy, kindness, and a strong sense of solidarity that united students and staff alike.
A Community That Cares
We are proud to share that, thanks to the dedication of the Student Council, a remarkable number of messages were sent. Once again, our students and school staff demonstrated that they are not only academically committed but also socially responsible, compassionate, and deeply empathetic individuals.
Celebrating Love Through Giving
This year, love was celebrated in the most meaningful way – by sharing it.
Through generosity, humanity, and unity, the International School community showed that even small acts of kindness can create a powerful difference.
