School stories

The initiative took place at Ada Ciganlija, one of Belgrade’s most important natural and recreational areas. In addition to members of the Student Council and the Eco School CLUB, many other students joined the activity, demonstrating a strong sense of environmental awareness and community spirit. The students were supported throughout the activity by Biology and Chemistry teacher Marija Kovački.

Small Actions, Meaningful Impact

The aim of this initiative was to encourage students to take an active role in protecting the environment while contributing to the preservation of a shared public space.

Working together, students collected waste, helped reduce pollution, and demonstrated how even small actions can create meaningful change when carried out collectively.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Beyond its practical aspect, the initiative also had an important educational dimension. Students had the opportunity to reflect on environmental protection, recycling, and the role each individual plays in building a more sustainable future.

This hands-on experience allowed students to connect theory with real-life action, making their learning more relevant and impactful.

An Initiative That Inspires

The “Ada Cleanup” initiative stands as an excellent example of how student-led projects can promote key values such as environmental awareness, teamwork and social responsibility.

Through activities like this, students not only contribute to their community but also develop a deeper understanding of their role in creating positive change.
