School stories

On the 14th and 15th of May, a creative weekend was held at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts. On that occasion, FCA hosted a large number of high school students from all over Serbia.

Across a total of nine workshops, with the help of lecturers, students gained insight into what art studies look like, and into numerous possible ways to develop their talents.

Plenty of attractive and useful content

All secondary school art lovers had the opportunity to learn many useful things in two days and see the whole process of creating works of art. FCA Creative Art Workshops consisted of sessions in graphic design, acting, interior design, painting, fashion design, multimedia production, music communications, contemporary journalism and game art.

In graphic design, the students were engaged in recycling, while in interior design, they learned the basics of interior design.

Prospective actors learned about creating character, and about the voice and its importance on stage.

In the fashion design workshop, created head accessories; in the painting one, a public drawing and painting class was organized.

The music workshop was dedicated to music performance, modern journalism taught how to recognize “fake news”, while the production workshop was dedicated to creating a brand.

Great interest in game art

The game art workshop stirred up great interest; secondary school students were involved in building characters and spaces in video games.

International School students Sofija Vojnović and Andrea Kačarević participated in the interior design workshop and obtained Faculty of Contemporary Arts workshop certificates.

These are their impressions:

“We participated in a workshop for interior design. It was amazing… The professors and students were kind and helpful. The workshop lasted for three and a half hours, but it was so interesting that we didn’t even notice. It was also very creative and they taught us how to arrange any interior. I can’t wait for the next one”, enthused Sofija Vojnović (Y10, International School).

“I went to an interior design workshop for the first time and I am glad the workshop at FCA was my first one. It lasted almost four hours with breaks, but we didn’t even notice because we had so much fun with professors and students who are part of FCA. They were so kind and they really helped us on the project we did in the workshop. It was a really good experience and I look forward to the next one”, said Andrea Kačarević (Y10, International School).
