School stories

Some of our students had the opportunity to participate in an engaging workshop on social entrepreneurship, organized by Business and Economics teacher Ms Marija Milić. The workshop took place at the American Resource Center (ARC) in Lozionica. The participants – Filip Asprovski (Y12), Xuanyi Hu, Mia Zah, Kristina Pandžić, Magdalena Ćorković, Kseniia Volkova, and Sara Ružica Vulin Daniel (all Y10) – were welcomed by an ARC representative who delivered an opening speech and gave an overview of the center’s services.

The workshop was led by Dragana Tomic Pilipovic, one of the creators of a social-entrepreneurship board game called TRIP (named after the “Triple Bottom Line” concept). Through the game, students were introduced to the principles of social enterprise: generating not only profit, but also social and environmental impact.

During the activity, students progressed through various levels of the game – simulating the process of starting a social enterprise. Those who combined strategic thinking and effective teamwork managed to complete the game first and earned the honorary title of “winners” in their group. The workshop gave students a chance to demonstrate their skills, collaborate with peers from different year-groups, and broaden their school network.

We thank Ms Tomic Pilipovic for guiding the students through the world of social entrepreneurship and inspiring them to think in a socially responsible way. We look forward to building further cooperation in youth education on social entrepreneurship.
