As part of the International Week of Science and Peace, Year 8 students took part in a special interdisciplinary lesson led by Science teacher Maja Milosavljević and Mathematics teacher Daliborka Odobaša. The aim of the lesson was to encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and open discussion about real-world scientific phenomena.

During the lesson, students were invited to ask any science-related question that sparked their interest. This interactive approach resulted in an interesting conversation that covered a wide range of topics. The most prominent questions focused on different sources of energy, including how wind turbines operate, how nuclear reactors produce power, and what makes lithium batteries so efficient.

Students also explored broader environmental themes, such as the greenhouse effect, ozone layer depletion, and the importance of protecting our planet. Throughout the lesson, teachers provided clear explanations, real-life examples, and opportunities for students to connect scientific concepts with everyday life.

This interdisciplinary approach not only enriched students’ understanding of science and mathematics, but also highlighted the importance of scientific awareness in promoting peace, sustainability, and responsible global citizenship.
