Students from our school recently participated in the “My Destination – My Brand” competition, organized by the Academy of Hospitality, Tourism and Wellness, where they had the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world, creative context.
A Team Effort
Our school was represented by a dedicated team consisting of Elena Iliev, Gala Vranjanac, and Luka Zah, guided and supported by their Geography and Travel and Tourism teacher, Milica Kremić. Together, they approached the challenge with enthusiasm, collaboration, and a clear vision.
Turning a Destination into a Brand
The main objective of the competition was to transform a tourist destination in Serbia into a recognizable and compelling brand. This required students to conduct an in-depth analysis of their chosen location, identify its unique strengths, and design an innovative tourism product. In addition, they developed a comprehensive promotional strategy aimed at presenting their destination in an engaging and marketable way.
Showcasing Kruševac
Our students chose the city of Kruševac as their focus and presented it through a creative, well-structured concept. Their work highlighted the city’s cultural, historical, and tourism potential, combining thoughtful research with original ideas. By connecting tradition with modern tourism trends, they created a presentation that stood out for both its clarity and creativity.
Developing Skills Beyond the Classroom
Throughout the competition, the team demonstrated a high level of innovation, strong analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of tourism and branding. More importantly, this experience allowed them to further develop essential skills such as teamwork, public speaking, problem-solving, and critical thinking—skills that are key for their future academic and professional paths.
Looking Ahead
Participating in this competition was a valuable and enriching experience for our students, giving them the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and engage with real industry challenges. We are proud of their effort, dedication, and the way they represented our school, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in future projects.
