School stories

In a time when many young people are searching for their voice and place in the world, one student has chosen to use his – for others. Eo Stojadinović, a student at International School in Belgrade, shows through his actions that empathy, dedication, and courage can grow into real change within a community.

After spending a year in the United States on the prestigious ASSIST scholarship, attending St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia, Eo returned home with something you can’t learn from books – a vision of how to change the world. Inspired by the culture of collective volunteerism that was a part of school life in the U.S., he decided to bring that same spirit to his own community. That’s how the humanitarian organization “Krokokodil” was born – a symbol of the surplus of kindness we all have (and should) share with others.

The name “Krokokodil” carries personal meaning: as a young child, Eo struggled to pronounce the word “crocodile” and would say “krokokodil” instead. That extra syllable now represents the extra compassion each of us can offer – one more smile, one more helping hand, one more good deed.

“Krokokodil” operates in a simple but powerful way: it encourages people to do one good deed, take a photo or record it, and share it through social media. Whether it’s helping a neighbour, volunteering at a care home, donating books, organizing a clothing drive, or simply offering kind words – every action matters. Eo then publishes these stories and actions on the organization’s social platforms, hoping to inspire others to join in and create an unbroken chain of kindness.

“Goodness only spreads if we share it. I believe we can all make a difference – even with small gestures. ‘Krokokodil’ isn’t some big system – it’s an idea that we can all be part of something beautiful, together”, says Eo.

So far, his initiative has attracted not only friends from Serbia but also supporters from the U.S. and beyond – people who see in his message a powerful truth: kindness knows no borders, no age, and no status.

Eo has no plans of stopping. His dream is to build an international network of small good deeds – through schools, communities, and families. With the help of social media and local initiatives, he aims to inspire even more young people to recognize the value of engagement and solidarity.

What makes this story even more special is that Eo comes from an educational environment that promotes the values of knowledge, responsibility, and humanity. International School is a place that doesn’t see students merely as future academic achievers, but as whole individuals capable of changing the world. Eo is living proof that education rooted in critical thinking, empathy, and action produces young leaders whose energy inspires.
