School stories

We are delighted to share news of a meaningful and inspiring afternoon with Cambridge International representatives, Ms Sara Ceroni, International Education Manager for Southeast Europe, and Ms Caroline Greener, International Marketing Manager at Cambridge Insight. The visit, which took place on 7 October 2025, reaffirmed our shared commitment to excellence, wellbeing, and the holistic development of every student.

From the very start, the conversation focused on a clear and ambitious vision: aligning the school’s development with Cambridge International standards while nurturing a safe, vibrant learning environment where wellbeing and academic progress go hand in hand. This partnership highlights International School’s dedication to delivering world-class education in a supportive and inclusive setting.

“We are very impressed with the quality of teaching and the inspiring school culture”

Discussions centred on strategies to enhance curriculum delivery, resources, infrastructure, and teacher development, all in service of Cambridge programmes. This collaboration is designed to provide enhanced learning experiences that prepare students for international opportunities and lifelong success.

“Cambridge International Education is a global organisation working with over 10,000 schools in 130 countries. Across Europe and particularly in Southeast Europe, we are seeing a growing interest in international and bilingual education. We believe that the future of education lies in developing essential skills—such as research, collaboration, public speaking and critical thinking—that will prepare students for life beyond the classroom,” said Sara Ceroni, Cambridge International Education Manager for Southeast Europe.

A strong focus on wellbeing

Wellbeing remains at the heart of our school’s mission. Together with our guests, we explored safeguarding practices, social-emotional learning, and holistic development initiatives aimed at creating a safe, nurturing environment where every student can thrive. The coordinators praised the school for creating a climate where students feel secure, respected and empowered—so much so that Cambridge representatives expressed their intention to share our practices with other schools.

Cambridge representatives on school culture and wellbeing

During the visit, the Cambridge team highlighted the school’s welcoming atmosphere, quality of teaching, and strong student–teacher relationships. They commended the school for creating an environment where students feel both supported and inspired to learn.

““It has been a pleasure to visit. I was very impressed with the quality of teaching and the strong, positive relationships between students and teachers. The classrooms are highly engaging, and the overall school culture is warm, inclusive and inspiring,” said Caroline Greener, Cambridge International Marketing Manager.

Strategic collaboration and global reach

The visit also outlined opportunities to align Cambridge Insight branding with the school’s mission, strengthening communication with international families and partners. This will showcase International School’s distinctive strengths while highlighting our commitment to academic excellence, innovation and wellbeing.

In addition, the visit opened doors for new staff exchange opportunities, joint professional development programmes, and the sharing of best practices in assessment, progression pathways and student support. These initiatives will enrich our teaching and learning culture and expand students’ horizons.

Looking ahead

In the coming weeks, a joint working group will be formed to create a clear development roadmap aligned with Cambridge standards. This will include the piloting of a comprehensive wellbeing and safeguarding framework and the development of a collaborative marketing plan that communicates our values to a global audience. Regular follow-ups and strategic milestones will ensure that our students continue to benefit from this valued partnership.
