Year 11 students took part in an educational workshop held by Psychology teacher Ms Lara Filipović and Biology teacher Ms Nadežda Šućur, marking World AIDS Day. The goal of the workshop was to raise awareness, provide accurate information, and encourage open and responsible discussions about HIV and AIDS.
During the workshop, students learned about the scientific, psychological, and social aspects of HIV/AIDS – including how the virus is transmitted, ways to prevent infection, and the importance of reducing stigma surrounding the condition. The teachers also highlighted global efforts in prevention, treatment advancements, and the significance of early testing.
This workshop served not only to deepen students’ knowledge but also to promote empathy, responsibility, and informed decision-making, reinforcing the school’s commitment to supporting students’ well-being through meaningful and relevant education.
