Year 10 students recently had a Business lesson with their teacher, Ms. Marija Milić, where theory met practice in the best possible way.
Working in teams, students created a draft of their first Business Plan using the Business Canvas Model. This practical framework helped them map out key elements of a business idea. By engaging in this activity, students were encouraged to think like entrepreneurs and to put their classroom knowledge into action.
Teacher Marija Milić applied a “learning by doing” approach, placing students in a realistic business situation that allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of key concepts. Instead of simply learning definitions, students experienced what it means to structure and present a business idea, practicing skills they will need in both their academic and professional futures.
Learning in this way has multiple benefits: it encourages critical thinking, develops problem-solving skills, promotes teamwork and communication, and nurtures creativity and innovation. Most importantly, it gives students the confidence to approach challenges proactively and to see mistakes as valuable learning opportunities.
This lesson showed that Business is not just about reading case studies or memorizing terms – it is about creativity, strategy, and collaboration, all of which prepare students for the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.
