As part of their Business subject, Year 7 Lower Secondary students had a unique and inspiring experience visiting the cafe and workshop “Zvuci Srca”. The visit was organised by Business teacher Marija Milić and led by their English teacher Miloš Arsić.
The aim of the visit was to introduce students to the concept of social entrepreneurship and how businesses can play a key role in addressing important social challenges such as unemployment, access to education, and inclusive healthcare.
At “Zvuci Srca” students learned how this social enterprise provides employment and professional training in both hospitality and craftwork – including printing, sewing, and handmade production – for individuals with disabilities. Through these activities, the organisation empowers its employees to become more independent and integrated into the business world.
Students were deeply moved by the warmth and kindness of their hosts, as well as impressed by the café’s original and beautifully crafted products – from mugs and tote bags to magnets, badges, and other hand-sewn and printed items, all made in their creative workshop.
With smiles on their faces and hearts full of appreciation, the students thanked their hosts and promised to return soon, having made new and genuine friendships along the way.
