At the Winter State Championship held from 9 to 11 March at the Milan Gale Muškatirović Sports Centre in Belgrade, Savremena’s student Tara Ćulibrk won as many as 9 medals 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals in the 50m, 100m and the 200m front crawl events, as well as in several relays as part of the 11th April Swimming Club.

This placement and good results ensured her participation in the Balkan Swimming Championship in Sarajevo, and in the competition between the national teams of Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia which will take place next weekend.

Tara’s achievements in numerous national and international swimming competitions have placed her among the most talented and dedicated students of International School Savremena.

Fostering talent since early age

Tara started swimming at the age of seven and since then this sport has become a big part of her life. As Tara herself said, the swimming pool feels like home to her, and swimming helps her find balance in life and improve her organisational skills. She works hard to win many prizes and medals, and her life goal is to participate in the Olympic Games. So far she has won 15 gold, 12 silver and 6 bronze medals in different swimming competitions.

A succession of sporting achievements

In 2016 she participated in the Summer State Championship where she won 2 gold medals in individual 50m and 100m front crawl races, as well as 3 bronze medals in the relays: 4  X 100m front crawl, 4 X 100m freestyle and 4 X 200m front crawl.

In October 2016 she participated in the secondary-school city competition where she won second place in the individual 100m front crawl event, which qualified her for the national round of the competition. In addition, she also represented International School Savremena at the national secondary-school competition where she won third place.

Tara Ćulibrk is a great example of how hard work pays off, as she manages to have excellent marks along with remarkable swimming achievements.
