School stories

On Thursday, 16 March, Savremena’s students participated in the International Mathematical Kangaroo Contest where they achieved notable results. On that day, mathematics brought students from over 60 countries together, as they pondered and solved the same maths problems at their schools.

Maths erasing borders

Owing to their great logical and combinatorial thinking, an excellent understanding of given tasks and, above all, correct application of acquired mathematical knowledge, Savremena’s students achieved great results at the contest.

Second-year student Nikola Orlić had the best score, with only a few points separating him from the maximum number of points. He was closely followed by Nikola Vračar, Ana Petrović, Ana Vujović, Nikoleta Đorović, Aleksandar Zaplatić and Tara Papić. Savremena’s students shared the same challenges, puzzles, questions and thoughts with as many as 3.5 million students around the world who took part in the contest.

Fostering love for natural sciences at Savremena

Since the main idea of the Kangaroo competition is to popularise maths and increase interest in natural sciences in general, we can conclude that the set goal was achieved at Savremena. Savremena’s students approached this international project with great joy and excitement and enjoyed the challenges set before them as they developed their mathematical competencies.

Congratulations to our successful mathematicians whose commitment and devotion will ensure great results in the future
