All book lovers would unanimously agree that the best place in Belgrade during the last days of October is definitely the International Book Fair. In order to experience the charm of this traditional event, Savremena International School students visited the 61st Belgrade Book Fair on Friday, October 28th, and thus became a part of the greatest exhibition of the written word.

ISS students’ quest for the favourite book titles

Savremena International School students spent hours conquering the book stands and halls in the quest for the familiar book covers and titles that they had written on their lists. With their hands full of comics, novels, dictionaries, they showed that they are truly different, hungry for knowledge and new worlds whose doors they can open by reading.

In the spirit of this year’s slogan ‘Take a book in your hand’, it wasn’t unusual to hear the ISS students that, although they frequently read e-books, they still enjoy to leaf through regular books while listening to the sound of turning a page and taking in the scent printed books.

The importance of cherishing the culture of reading

Savremena International School and its teachers work hard to instill a love for reading in their students and develop their reading habits, thus developing and improving the culture of reading.

With the interest they expressed, anticipation to expand their libraries and joy of meeting their new paper friends, the ISS students showed that they are on the right track to fulfill their goals.
